Potato Soup for the Cold

Yes, I'm making soup again! It's cold out here and some nice warm soup would be very comforting.

So two kind neighbors gave me potatoes a while ago. What do you do when you have lots of potatoes? Make soup!

I don't have my own potato soup recipe or Grandma's recipe so I go straight to the net and find something that sounds good. I soon found out that there are hundreds of potato soup recipes. Potato soup is made all over the world. One site divided the soups into three categories: simple, hot and creamy. You can guess that I made a selection out of the first group. My favorite potato soup would be creamed but I don't want to mess around with milk and flour. Maybe next time for a creamy potato soup.

There's just a little bite to this soup

    1. I can cook but don't let me think I'm a good cook. I know my limitations.

  3. That does look yummy indeed Red - nothing like a nice home made soup on a cold day. I do a lot of stews and soups over the winter - seems to hit the right spot. Are you opening a restaurant anytime soon :)

  5. Looks good, Red. I'm going to take soup in a thermos on our hike today, since it's supposed to rain and blow, not the best time to hike, but I'm going anyway. Soup warms the soul. :-)

    1. Yes this soup would have hit the spot. There was cayenne in it so there was a little bite to it.

  6. Soup is good food especially in these late fall cold leaf raking days. And I also subscribe to any recipe that include the words "simple" Thanks Red and btw my favorite is vegetable beef ....

    1. Vegetable beef would suit me too. I really find it empowering that I can Google and get a recipe instead of going on bended knee to get something out my manager's recipes.

    1. Interesting that you got three posts at once. I noticed that my post didn't show on my own list but never thought about it. Nobody else mentioned this. It's a bummer to have to comment on three posts all at once.

    1. It's sort of a defense mechanism. I really don't like bought soups.
